CORALVILLE — A newly added event to next month’s Innovation Expo will feature two speakers who will provide perspective on what works and what doesn’t when it comes to start-ups.
The Start-up Iowa Town Hall will follow the entrepreneurship trade show at the Innovation Expo Oct. 23 at the Coralville Marriott. The town hall will feature Scott Case, former chief technology officer of Priceline and CEO of Startup America Partnership, as well as Scott Heiferman, CEO of Meetup.com and a University of Iowa graduate.
The town hall, presented by the University of Iowa and co-produced by Seed Here Studio and UP Global, will begin at 7:30 p.m.
“Both of these entrepreneurs have built incredibly successful companies,” said Andy Stoll, a co-owner of Seed Here. “They’ll be speaking to their own stories of how they did that and what they learned along the way.
“They will also be talking about the importance of community to support entrepreneurs and start-ups in regions across the nation and around the world.”
The third annual Innovation Expo also will include a Pitch and Grow session and a Seed and Venture forum. Tickets are available at http://InnovationExpo2013.eventbrite.com.
The expo is part of Creative Week, a series of events taking place to highlight ideas and products created in the Corridor, which will run from Oct. 19 to 26.
