Under Kirk Ferentz, Iowa's football program has defeated Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier, Brady Hoke.

The only programs the Hawkeyes have faced more than once under Ferentz without defeating are Nebraska and ... Western Michigan.

In 2000, the Broncos won in Iowa City, 27-21. In 2007, in a season-finale that kept the Hawkeyes from a bowl game, WMU prevailed, 28-19.

Saturday, Iowa gets another chance, as a 17-point favorite. The Hawkeyes were 13-point picks in 2007.

Iowa, by the way, is 19-2 against the rest of the Mid-American Conference. The two losses were in the Hawkeyes' most-recent games against MAC squads, Central Michigan last season and Northern Illinois this year.

Iowa 2-0

Michigan State 2-12

SportsGeography.comhad a post last Saturday noting that Akron would have been the 6th MAC team to ever defeat a ranked Big Ten club had the Zips squeezed out a win at Michigan.
