Iowa's fullbacks were good against ISU, in front of cameras

The weird factoids come out in the week after a win.

Did you know that RB Mark Weisman lives with both fullbacks, Macon Plewa and Adam Cox. That's a full refrigerator.

Also, do you know who's the sloppiest? It's the pretty boy running back, at least according to the fullbacks.

Fun interview with those guys. The duo is happy to contribute, happy to literally smash heads with linebackers or whomever and don't really care if they get the ball.

These guys were hilarious. Total fullbacks. Watch and enjoy.

Fullback theme and that's about it. I've asked about the carries thing. Do you think Weisman is going to say, "Yeah, I should carry the ball less." Don't get me wrong, he's not a selfish player. The fact of the matter is no one knows what's optimum. I believe they'll continue to run the other two RBs in and expand Daniels' horizons.

O-line hangs together and knows what each other is all about. I asked about guard play coming along and the fullback theme. (On the "On Iowa Live" TV show, I was asked for my surprise player and picked Blythe. I think he's been excellent.)

Oh, and lense cap on! For the first couple of seconds.

The Decorah native interned this summer with the UI Foundation. He literally followed the money that pays his scholarship.

I asked Scherff if he could see himself as a fullback. He said, heck yeah. My point there was fullback is a tough, grimy job and not everyone can do it. Then, about a second after I asked it, I realized who I was asking the question to. Oh yeah, this is the guy who had the broken fibula and dislocated ankle and sat in a John Deere Gator, knowing his season was likely over, and tried to cheer you guys out of your seats at Kinnick Stadium.

I'll get one of these right someday.

Morris is a middle linebacker. He's seen his share of fullbacks. I asked him about Iowa's pair.

I asked Rudock if he could play fullback. It worked this time. My point was to get to what it takes to play the position. Rudock said he could see handing off or throwing to the fullback. The fullbacks seemed unconvinced of this.

The junior WR is not the oldest among his position group. That's Jordan Cotton. KMM talked about the steps the WRs have taken. It's still a work in progress, but it is a hungry group that knows it will have to keep up its end of the deal.
