This is one of the bluest periods in Hlastradamus' centuries-long career as a college football handicapper.
After an 0-5 blackout in Week 1, the seer improved to only 2-3 last week. He's less accurate than an Internet message board.
This is totally unacceptable, of course. You don't spend hundreds of years building a reputation only to tear it down just because it's been unseasonably warm the last two weeks and your crystal ball has been steamed up.
This week, it's all good. But first, the prophet skips making a pick on the Iowa-Iowa State game because he doesn't want to deal with the unkind responses from the millionaire boosters of whichever team he would have picked against. Hlastradamus tries to stay on good terms with the fat cats.
On with the picks:
Arizona State -5.5 vs. Wisconsin: It's a game that starts at 9:30 p.m., Central time. That messes up with the minds of the Midwest boys.
Nebraska -4.5 vs. UCLA. Why is this an 11 a.m. game?
Texas -2.5 vs. Mississippi. It would be too wonderful if Texas lost again.
UCF +5.5 at Penn State. Central Florida is good.
USC -14 vs. Boston College. As woeful as the Trojans looked last week, Boston College may just ask the pilot to land the plane in Denver and go mountain-climbing instead of going all the way to Los Angeles.
