It also meant cleaning. A lot of cleaning.
Some people spring clean, I back-to-school clean. I start with the basement storage area and work my way up, tackling every room in the house. I save the kitchen for last. It’s a high traffic area, so it’s the messiest. It’s also my favorite room in the house, so I mentally map out my changes as I sort through the linen closet, dust our bookshelves and scrub the bathrooms.
The kids were bored the day I tackled the kitchen, so I put them to work. E filed loose recipes in binders while B matched storage containers with lids. Both claimed to no longer be board when I opened up my spice cabinet, so I handled that chose on my own.
It’s so pretty. I swear every time I open the cupboard, a light shines upon it and angels sing.
