The Pigman Long and Olympic Triathlon was run at Pleasant Creek State Park near Palo on Sunday. Daniel Bretscher of Mount Vernon won the Olympic distance in 1:58:20.78, nearly four minutes ahead of Waukee native Peder Skoog, who finished in 2:02:08.98. Radka Vodickova, of Liberecky, Czech Republic finished first in the Olympic distance among women in 2:06:40.36, ahead of Waverly’s Janet McCullough, who finished in 2:15:14.51.
David Thompson, of St. Paul, Minn., crossed the line a winner of the overall Long division, finishing in 3:54:17.01. Thompson beat Des Moines’ Adam Bohach, who was nearly three minutes behind, finishing in 3:57:03.80. Kortney Haag, of Maple Grove, Minn., won the women’s Long division in 4:38:15.84. She finished just ahead of Waukesha, Wisc. native Briana Boehmer, who ran a 4:39:20.51.
