Hedlund confirms he paid ticket for trooper cited in governor's speeding incident

Fired Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation supervisor Larry Hedlund confirmed Saturday that he was the one who paid the ticket for a state trooper who was cited this week in an April speeding incident involving Gov. Terry Branstad.
Trooper Steve Lawrence received a $181.50 speeding ticket on Thursday after an Iowa Department of Public Safety review found that he had violated state rules by traveling at least 84 mph on U.S. Highway 20.
