Just weeks after claiming the 84 kg spot for the U.S. in the FILA Junior World Championships in September, Brooks was selected to compete in the the FILA Junior Pan American Championships in Santiago, Chile, on July 14.
The Junior Pan Am Championships consists of wrestlers from 17 to 20 years old, who reside in North, Central and South America.
Brooks red-shirted last season and will be considered a red-shirt freshman next season. He will be joined by classmate and teammate Thomas Gilman in the Junior World Championships. Gilman won the 55 kg spot last month at the Junior World Team Trials in Stillwater, Okla.
