A new University of Iowa QuickCare will open Monday in North Liberty.
The emergent care facility will provide care for basic illness or injury, said Katie Bedard, University of Iowa Health Care marketing coordinator. Other illnesses that will be treated there include respiratory issues, ear aches or infections, Bedard said.
The clinic will have one to two physician assistants or advanced nurse practitioners, said Harriet Echternacht, medical director of UI Health Care QuickCare Clinics.
Staff also will perform physicals and on site lab testing for certain common illnesses.
Bedard said the QuickCare location was chosen because of the growing community in North Liberty. QuickCares are already in Coralville and Iowa City.
“It’s really trying to create more services in the community that are UI Heath Care,” she said.
“We see the need. A lot of people that come to the ER with really basic needs, having QuickCare really does help with wait times.”
