NEW YORK — Iowa picked a bad day to have a bad game.
The Hawkeyes shot 26.1 percent in a 74-54 loss to Baylor in the NIT championship game Thursday at Madison Square Garden. Baylor, conversely, shot 54.2 percent, including 65.2 percent in the second half.
The Bears also checked Iowa guard Devyn Marble, who scored just six points. Here’s what Marble said about the game:
Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery discussed what happened to let the game get out of hand for Iowa so quickly early in the second half.
Iowa senior Eric May scored eight points in his final game as an Iowa Hawkeye. He received a standing ovation from the Iowa faithful.
