Someone using the name of Iowa’s starting power forward is off to a fantastic start in ESPN’s Tournament Challenge.
If you call going 16-0 in the first round fantastic, that is. Hey, the real Basabe does wear uniform No. 1.
“Melsahn Basabe” had Harvard beating New Mexico. Presumably, he has Iowa beating Stony Brook tonight, too, although that’s an NIT game.
“Melsahn Basabe” is repped by someone named Brandon Capper. He is a University of Iowa student. He was one of the 5.5 percent of the 8.15 million entrants in the contest to go 16-0 on Day 1.
Alas, Capper missed on North Carolina State Friday afternoon to snap his streak of perfection.
