Sentencing has been scheduled for next month for a former accounting clerk for the city of Muscatine.

Court records show Diane Fry made a deal with prosecutors and in February pleaded guilty to theft. Prosecutors dropped counts of felony misconduct in office in return for her plea.

An audit report issued Monday by the office of State Auditor David Vaudt said more than $18,000 hadn’t been deposited into city accounts. The money amassed from the city’s public housing fund and various city fees, including those for yard waste bags. The audit said one of Fry’s duties for the city was to maintain the accounts of public housing tenants.

Fry’s sentencing is set for April 12.
