Whole financial picture better with Linn casino

I can’t understand why Dan Kehl, CEO of Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, spent nearly a million dollars on a lot of negative advertising trying to keep Cedar Rapids from having a casino. If it was another bar, convenience store or used car lot, it would be the same from a new business owner’s standpoint.

I think some of the problems with wealthy businesses (not all) is that they want to monopolize an area and could not care less about the whole financial picture. Cedar Rapids needs to make downtown a thriving, friendly place for residents as well as those who come here for business and entertainment.

We need a $30 million water park like Custer needed more Indians — we have new swimming pools, playgrounds and other facilities for our youth. Besides, consider all we can do with revenue from the casino. Everyone can benefit and it would be a great addition.
