Xavier student accepted into Joffrey Ballet School’s summer programs

Xavier sophomore Emma Houser was recently accepted into the Joffrey Ballet School’s Summer Intensive Programs. Emma has been accepted into multiple ballet and jazz programs including: Ballet: NYC Joffrey, Florence, Italy, San Francisco; Joffrey South Ballet Advanced Trainee and Joffrey South Jr. Trainee; Jazz: NYC, Dallas and Joffrey South; Combo Ballet/Jazz: Los Angeles, Miami.

Emma dances with Kate Carol and Company Dance in Iowa City. She is a member of the Impact Company and dances in a Pre-Professional Showcase duet. Last summer she attended ballet intensives in New York City and at Joffrey South. She danced with celebrity Jamal Sims, one of the most sought after choreographer/directors in the industry. In addition to her class instruction and rehearsals, Emma is a teaching assistant at the dance studio. Emma is on Xavier’s Speech Team, Robins Mock Trial Team and is a member of the Spanish, SADD and Key Clubs. Emma is a Xavier Ambassador and is active in the Xavier Drama Department.
