The Marion Parks and Recreation Department has closed Thomas Park, located at 335 Marion Boulevard, for flood repair work. Indian Creek left its banks on Sunday night due to the combination of extended rain and melting snow. The park and trail access points will be closed until further notice.

“There are several sections of trail that need to be repaired,” said Mike Carolan, Director of Parks and Recreation. “It could take four to six weeks to get the park and trail back to normal conditions, weather permitting.”

The flooding has also resulted in the Ice Rink at Thomas Park being closed for the season.
