A concert has been scheduled to raise funds for a memorial that will honor two slain Iowa cousins.

The April 20 event at McElroy Auditorium in Waterloo will honor Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins. It also will raise funds for a park project at Meyers Lake in Evansdale.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports several musical acts will perform, including the band Saving Abel and singers from a local church that one of the girls’ families attends.

The park at the lake will be called Angels Park. An adjacent lakeside trail will be called Trail of Angels.

The girls were last seen in July riding their bikes by the lake. Their bodies were found in December in a wooded area, and authorities continue to investigate the case.
