Has anyone bothered to consider where this economic prosperity a casino will supposedly provide is going to come from? It will come largely from people who are, in effect, pouring their money down a rathole, hoping for a big win that never comes. It’s money most of them can ill afford to lose.

Innovation, entrepreneuring and hard work — that’s how you get economic growth and real jobs.
