Sen. Grassley needs to retire

Sen. Chuck Grassley, our Republican obstructionist in the Senate, won’t vote for the president’s job bill to create more jobs. Yet he did vote to continue billions in subsidies to the five major oil companies. He voted against the Sandy storm relief bill to help the people in New York and New Jersey.

He voted against the bill to give tax incentives to offshore corporations to move back to the United States. Check his position on closing corporations’ offshore tax havens. Closing corporations’ tax loopholes. Implementing a Wall Street transaction tax.

Most recently, he voted no on the Violence Against Women Act.

Grassley and his Republican friends in the House are afraid to vote on the president’s job bill for fear it will work and put millions of people back to work. This would not play well for their election efforts in 2014 and 2016.

All the good Iowa people need to ask Grassley these specific questions when he comes to visit our counties versus listening to his song and dance stories.

If he decides to run for re-election in 2016, I believe it would be in our best interest to vote no. It would be great if he retired now.
