The state Board of Regents is seeking nominations to fill the public seat on a new committee aimed at increasing transparency within the regents and the state’s three public universities.

The board at a meeting earlier this month approved the formation of the new transparency task force, after taking some criticism on that issue in recent months. The group will include one representative of the public, and the board is seeking nominations to fill the spot.

Members of the public can submit their names, contact information and a summary of 200 words or less about why they are interested in serving on the committee. Nominations are due by the end of the day March 6.

The regents expect to approve the task force membership at a March 13 meeting.

Nominations should be sent to Ann McCarthy, policy and operations Officer, by e-mail at amccart@iastate.edu or through the regents website at www.regents.iowa.gov/contactus/contactus.html.
