West High School students will host a music and art festival March 9 to benefit a local organization that helps Guatemalan children suffering from cleft lip and palate.

Proceeds from the event will go to Iowa MOST, which stands for Miles of Smiles Team and is a local organization that works in Guatemala to perform cleft lip and palate operations on needy kids, according to a news release.

The benefit will include music, art on display and for sale and food from local restaurants and handmade treats.

The event starts at 7 p.m.  in the auditorium at West High, 2901 Melrose Ave. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students and will be sold March 4-8 in the West High commons at lunch and at the door the night of the benefit.
