Hello ... from Lincoln

I admit I was worried about this drive when 20 inches of snow was supposed to pound Lincoln on Thursday and Friday. But the Nebraska state capital received about 5 inches of snow, kind of like eastern Iowa.

I drove over this morning and it was the smoothest ride of the season so far. But enough of snowstorms and Saturday morning drives.

Iowa and Nebraska tip off in a few hours, the Hawkeyes' last trip to the Devaney Center. There's no nostalgia with this place for Iowa considering this is only the Hawkeyes' second trip here in the modern era. The Nebraska state swim meet is held in the same complex, so there are some interesting chants coming from the pool.

I was told rounding up officials was a greater task than re-scheduling the game. Officials for the game are Ray Perone, Jim Schipper and Rob Kueneman. Perone and Schipper are regular Big Ten officials. Both have officiated each team at least once this season. This is Perone's 54th game and Schipper's 30th game this year.

Kueneman usually officiates the Summit League and Big Sky Conference. This is his 19th game this year. His only game involving a Big Ten squad was in December when Wisconsin played UW-Milwaukee.

The only way to watch this game away from the Devaney Center is on BTN2GO. The feed is taken from Nebraska's video board and the audio is from Nebraska's radio crew. You can download BTN2GO as an app and if your cable or satellitle provider has it, it's a quick process. A few eastern Iowa cable companies, IMON and South Slope to name a few, do not have BTN2GO.

Here's what BTN provides to help you get through it.

Q:  Why can’t BTN produce the game as a Student U streamed event?

A:  In preparation for the renovation of the Bob Devaney Center, some cabling and equipment has already been removed.  This cabling and equipment is necessary in order to produce a Student U event that can air on delay on BTN.

Q:  What if my television provider doesn’t offer BTN2Go?

A:  BTN2Go is widely available, through providers such as DIRECTV, Dish Network Time Warner Cable, Mediacom, Charter, Cox, Verizon FiOS and others.  If your television provider does not offer BTN2Go, contact your provider.

Q:  How do I access the game on BTN2Go?

A:  Visit www.btn2go.com to watch on your computer, or search for “BTN2Go” in the iTunes App Store or on Google Play for Android devices.
