Marion Fire Department to offer Citizens’ Fire Academy

Curious about the tactics and strategies of firefighting and rescue? Interested in knowing more about the inner workings of the Marion Fire Department?

The Marion Fire Department is offering citizens a unique way of experiencing the firefighting career with the Citizens' Fire Academy. The academy includes hands-on experience provided by multiple instructors. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and currently reside within the Marion fire response district.

The academy will be held every Thursday night from 6:00 9:00 p.m. from April 25 June 15, 2013 at Fire Station 2, located at 3933 Katz Dr. Class size is limited to 10 citizens.

A $20 fee to participate will help offset material costs. Visit www.cityofmarion.org/#/fire-department for the application and instructions, or contact the Marion Fire Department at 319-377-8237 for more information. Applications must be submitted by April 5.
