31-year-old Earl Gilmore, of Cedar Rapids, told police he got into an altercation with four black males near the intersection of Washington Avenue and 15th Street SE. Gilmore left the area in a vehicle, and near the intersection of Fourth Avenue and 14th Street SE, Gilmore believes one of the males shot at the vehicle.

Police responded to the incident around 12:48 p.m., and were unable to find any damage to the vehicle, authorities said.

Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said no one was injured during the incident. Hamblin said Gilmore did not know who the males were, but police are following up on leads and investigating the incident.
