The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is again offering tours of its headquarters and the county jail in advance of an election on a criminal justice center.

The 45-minute tours are at 6 p.m. Feb. 26 and March 12, and at 1 p.m. March 2. Contact Capt. Dave Wagner at (319) 356-6020 ext. 1035 or at dmwagner@co.johnson.ia.us.

Johnson County voters will go to the polls May 7 to decide on a $43.5 million bond issue to help pay for a justice center, which would have a new jail and court space. A similar proposal failed to get enough support in last November’s election.

The county also offered jail tours in advance of last fall’s vote.
