Even though I live in Cedar Rapids, I have been following the developments for a new casino in Sioux City. As a mother concerned about the future of Iowa, I hope the state Racing and Gaming Commission strongly considers the proposed Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

It appears to me that this plan would be more beneficial to the state than other leading competitors. The Hard Rock brand would bring acclaim to Sioux City and Iowa — drawing many tourists to the area and sparking much economic growth. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino would provide attraction and rebirth to Sioux City and boost Iowa’s economy as a whole. This plan will surely increase the state’s tourism revenue and tax revenue. The plan also improves non-profits and community organizations in the state.

I urge the gaming commissioners to vote in support of the Hard Rock.
