Krystofiak wins district title

CEDAR RAPIDS — Mary Krystofiak of Cedar Rapids won the Knights of Columbus District Free Throw Championship earlier this month at LaSalle Middle School.

Krystofiak made 19 of 25 free throws to win the 11-year-old girls’ division, advancing to today’s regional.

Twisters gymnasts win Wisconsin Dells crowns

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — Abby Hawken, Emily Crumbo and Kaitlin Hotchkiss of Twisters Gymnastics all won titles at the Wisconsin Dells Vacation Classic late last month.

Hawken won the bronze in Xcel Bronze, Crumbo the all-around and Hotchkiss the floor exercise in Xcel Silver.

Abigail Green placed in Xcel Bronze and Chloe Clemons and Gabriella Kroeze placed in Silver.

Moser athletes shine in Maquoketa

MAQUOKETA — Eighteen members of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic won titles at a USTA Power Tumbling meet here recently.

Moser winners were Katelyn Mangold, Cierra Weipert, Meliah Eiben, Margaret Cruise, Alexis Hearn, Olivia Thier, Kayla Felton, Becca Farmer, Luke Farmer, Juliana Bennett, Annie Gulick, Jillian Fish, Emmy Troester, Grace Funke, Emma Bockenstedt, Isabel Lutgen, Caitlyn Criuse and Megan Pierschbacher.

Brooke Lucas finished second, along with Kellie Bayne, Victoria Karsten, Cheyenne Varner, Ericka Braden, Elyse White, Grace Hearn, Alexa Ries, Kaya Knipper and Olivia Schindler.

Third-place finishers were Melanie Lutgen, Samantha Ahlrichs, Mikya Britton, Lily Schmitz, Claire Heinrichs, Kacie Bayne, Natalie Meyers, Gabbie Funke, Lainey Knipper and Kloee Chrystal.

Mangold (intermediate level) and Eiben (novice Level) were high point scorer award winners.
