Casinos only exist to take money

Beware of flimflammery, good folks, for they promise great gains even though their proposals have knowingly caused untold evil to many people by getting them to lose money that could have been used for better purposes or even the necessities of life — constantly urging people to gamble away their money out of a false belief in luck.

Which brings me to the proposed casino for Cedar Rapids. Its purpose and their grandiose ideas rest only on the best way to extract clients’ money, much from lonely senior citizens. Nothing good and lasting will come from a casino in this town. Accordingly, I can’t imagine any large corporation seeking to expand/relocate moving here. Vote no.
