AMES Has the next Tyrus McGee committed to the Iowa State men’s basketball team?

The Cyclones certainly hope so — and the sharpshooter in question is 6-2 guard K.J. Bluford, who’s hit an NJCAA Division I-leading 104 3-pointers this season for Northeast Nebraska Community College.

Meanwhile, USC transfer guard Maurice Jones is no longer with the team.

He was ineligible to play when he left Los Angeles, and an ISU appeal to the NCAA to restore his eligibility was unsuccessful.

Bluford will join the program next season.

He’s been a consistent scorer — averaging 18.2 points this season and 17.7 last season.

Bluford’s from Minneapolis. Not much video of him, but there’s a dunk below.
