Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival officials named the new development director and new event and programs director on Monday.

Libby Slappey, the former project director for the Cedar Rapids City Market, Inc., was named the development director where she will be responsible for fundraising for the festival. Josie Takes was named the new event and programs director responsible for program management and event planning.

The  Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is a nonprofit that provides safe, affordable and fun annual events for the community.
