Supervisors fund raises but not roads

Linn County supervisors apparently think it is all right to get a 6 percent raise when the economy is not doing very well. Just because they say the county budget can afford it doesn’t make it all right.

How about the rest of the county workers? Shouldn’t they be entitled to get the same raise, not the 2.2 percent the supervisors gave? They plow the roads and try to maintain roads with the limited funds the supervisors give them.

When people complain about the roads, the excuse is we don’t have the funds. Sounds like they can find the funds when it comes to raises for themselves. Time for a reality check.
