Dr. Robin Barnett, DO, has been installed as president of the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians. The Iowa Academy of Family Physicians is a statewide professional association comprised of doctors who specialize in family medicine. Currently, there are 1,800 members. Dr. Barnett provides care for Mercy Medical Center employees at the Employee Health Center, in Cedar Rapids.

Dr. Barnett received her medical degree from Des Moines University and completed a Family Medicine residency at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA, in affiliation with the University of Iowa College of Medicine. She is also board certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine. Dr. Barnett has authored two books on health, one for women, Women: It’s Your Turn, and one for men, Bullet Proof, The Man’s Midlife Guide to Staying Strong, Healthy, and Happy.
