More information is needed about casino

We’ll have to vote on and approve a new casino package in Linn County before we are allowed to know its location and several other vital pieces of information. Sound familiar?

What will be the county’s and city’s share of the patrons’ self-imposed gambling tax revenues collected by the casino and where will it go? The local-option sales tax is scheduled to expire in 2014. Can generated casino revenues eliminate the need for a continuation of LOST?

It is surprising how little has been brought to the public knowledge, yet a hurried voting date is being advanced. To vote March 5 without the facts is stacking the deck and dealing from the bottom.
