The second candidate for the University of Northern Iowa presidency has been announced and will visit campus next week.

Avijit Ghosh is senior adviser to the president at the University of Illinois — Urbana-Champaign. He will visit campus Wednesday and Thursday, with his public forum at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Commons of Slife Ballroom.

A third finalist will be announced just prior to the last campus visit in early February. The state Board of Regents will interview the candidates at a meeting Feb. 7.

Ghosh’s biography, photo and curriculum vitae are online at www.uni.edu/presidential-search.

The new UNI president will succeed retiring President Ben Allen, who has led UNI since 2006.
