The owner of a Marion massage parlor was arrested Thursday for operating without a license, authorities said.

Officials said they received complaints that Asian Massage, 271 7th Ave., was still conducting business despite the business’ license being revoked by the Marion City Council last December. According to authorities, Asian Massage owner Jennifer Y. Dougherty, 47, of Marion, agreed to provide a plainclothes Marion police officer a massage Thursday in exchange for $40.

Dougherty was arrested for operating a public amusement without a license, a simple misdemeanor, and taken to the Linn County Jail.

Dougherty was arrested in October 2012 for prostitution.
