Police arrested a 53-year-old woman Tuesday evening after she allegedly left a slash wound on her boyfriend’s arm.

Gwendolyn L. Postley-Lemons of Cedar Rapids has been charged with domestic assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. She is accused of cutting Lawrence Booth, 40, with a knife at 903 C Ave. NW, Apt. 3, leaving a deep, 12-inch laceration on the left forearm, according to court documents. Booth’s injuries did not appear life-threatening, police said. He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital.

Officers who arrived shortly after 10:30 p.m. that evening noted that both Postley and Booth were intoxicated.

An investigation was continuing.
