NEW HIRES

GreatAmerica Financial Services Corp. hired Matt McElrath (see photo) as account support adviser. McElrath was previously with Yellowbook.

Matt Sanchez (see photo) joined MindFire Communications as design arsonist. Sanchez had been with Group O in Davenport.

Berthel Fisher & Co. in Marion announced several recent staff additions. Helen Busness (see photo) joined as associate corporate counsel, Scot Enright (see photo) as regional compliance OSJ principal, Mary Steckein (see photo) in the operations department, Justin Svenson (see photo) in the trading department and Lori Ringwald (see photo) also in the operations department.

Community 1st Credit Union named Isaac Helgens (see photo) branch manager for its Amana branch. Helgens most recently worked as IT manager at National Motorcycle Museum.

CIVCO Medical Solutions in Coralville appointed Brad Dunlap as vice president of marketing and product line management for multi-modality imaging. Dunlap returns to CIVCO with 20 years of experience.

Shuttleworth & Ingersoll in Cedar Rapids announced Kerry Finley (see photo) joined the firm as counsel. Finley has a general practice that includes litigation and appellate law.

PROMOTIONS

Todd Nelson was named executive vice president of Frew Development Group in Cedar Rapids. Nelson was vice president-chief financial officer. Kathleen Kennedy was named director of development. She was executive assistant.

Bankers Trust announced the following promotions: Tim Lamb (see photo) was to vice president mortgage loan originator, Kevin King (see photo) to vice president private banker III, Jen Welton (see photo) to assistant vice president treasure services and Kathy Nelsen (see photo) to executive assistant III and was named an officer of the bank.

Collins Community Credit Union promoted Duane Dee (see photo) to assistant vice president, C Street SW branch manager. Dee has been with CCCU for over 13 years.

Berthel Fisher & Co. in Marion promoted Brandon Berthel (see photo) to business development coordinator. He previously was acting sales assistant. Stephanie Giblin (see photo) was named insurance specialist. She most recently was assistant operations manager.

Robert Regenwether (see photo) was recognized with membership in the Farmers National Co. President’s Circle for selling over $15,000,000 in agricultural real estate.

Lia Sophia announced Excellent Beginnings Program Achievers for outstanding sales. Among the honorees were Melanie Townsend of Marion and Mandy Merten of North Liberty.

Andrew Iverson (see photo), architect with Shive-Hattery, has been designated as a Recognized Educational Facility Professional from the Council of Education Facility Planners International.

CERTIFICATIONS

Aging Services Inc. and Pentacrest Inc., affiliates of Abbe Inc., achieved a three-year accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

Christopher Overturf (see photo) with Latta, Harris, Hanon & Penningroth in Iowa City has completed the certification process with the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts to earn his designation of Certified Valuation Analyst.

Monica Vernon, founder and president of Vernon Research Group of Cedar Rapids, will present “The Value of Research” at an event sponsored by the AAF, Cedar Rapids-Iowa City. The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association announced author and energy security expert Anne Korin (see photo) will address the annual Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit and Trade Show Jan. 30 at the Meadows Conference Center in Altoona. The summit is free but registration is required. Additional speakers include Gov. Terry Branstad, Growth Energy’s Tom Buis and Nathan Kauffman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Featherlite Trailers, based in Cresco, has extended its long-term partnership with NASCAR. The six-year extension ensures that Featherlite Trailers will be the Official Trailer of NASCAR through 2018.

Junior Achievement is seeking nominations for two Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa Business Hall of Fame events, to be held in September. Three laureates will be selected for each event. All nominees should currently or previously have lived and worked in Eastern Iowa. Nominations will be accepted through March 13.
