Property tax reform is a shred priority of Gov. Terry Branstad and legislative Democrats and Republicans.

Recently, The Gazette’s James Lynch and Rod Boshart sat down with Rep. Tom Sands, R-Wapello, and Sen. Joe Bolkcom, D-Iowa City, the chairmen of the Ways & Means committees in their respective chambers. Their committees, known as the tax-writing committee, will play central roles in the debate on how to provide property tax reform and which property owners should get relief.
