One person has died after a wreck on an ice-covered road Wednesday evening in Allamakee County, authorities said.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a sport-utility vehicle was traveling northbound on County Road X52 north of Highway 76 around 6:25 p.m. when it slid into the east ditch, hit a rock and rolled. The driver was ejected, and the vehicle came to rest on its wheels in the east ditch. Authorities said the road was completely ice-covered at the time of the wreck.

Officials have not released the name of the driver, pending notification of family.
