Teen crashes vehicle into tree while fleeing trooper in Cedar Rapids

No injuries reported in crash

CEDAR RAPIDS – A 17-year-old was arrested after leading an Iowa State Patrol trooper on a short pursuit in northeast Cedar Rapids early Wednesday morning.

According to officials, a trooper reported he was in pursuit of a vehicle near Harwood Drive and 42nd Street NE around 11:47 p.m. About a minute later, the teenager crashed the vehicle into a tree, officials said.

Authorities said no one was injured in the incident, and the teen was later released to their parents.

Officials are not releasing specific charges at this time.
