Investigators are still trying to piece together the details about what happened before a man was shot early Sunday morning in Cedar Rapids.

Rhamond Bolden, 18, was shot once in the leg around 12:45 a.m. Sunday outside of CJ’s Bar, 62 17th Ave. SW, police said. Officers in the area heard the gunshots and found Bolden sitting in the parking lot.

Bolden, who told police he lives in Florida but stays with friends or family when in Cedar Rapids, was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where information about his condition was not available Monday morning. Bolden’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Police said Bolden told them he did not know the two suspects involved in the incident.  Complete descriptions were not available.

No one has been arrested.

Sunday’s shooting was the fourth confirmed report of gunshots in Cedar Rapids this year, and the second person who has been shot. Twenty-two people were shot in the city last year, and reports of gunshots were up 43 percent.
