We’ve been hearing about going over the “fiscal cliff.” We already have gone over the edge and the people of the U.S. are hanging on desperately to a limb. We are going to fall into a deep ravine, and as we are falling, we the people are calling for the federal government to hear us and forget their differences. Do what is best for the people.
My husband and I were raised in the Great Depression years. We were taught how to work and have worked hard all of our lives. We’ve cried at night, calling on our heavenly father to “please help us.” We’ve come a long way in our 66 years of marriage, raising and educating five children, who also were taught how to work, be good Christian people, have pride in our country and be willing to help others in need.
Please don’t let this heritage disappear, Congress and Mr. President. We need our morals back. We need parents who pay attention to what their children are doing instead of just enjoying what they do and letting their young people do whatever they want to do and not worrying about what could happen to them.
Wake up, America! We’ve fallen asleep at the wheel.
