Authorities are asking for help in locating a man who frequents the Cedar Rapids area and is wanted on an arrest warrant in connection with an infant that suffered serious injuries in Ottumwa early December.

Michael Blair

Officials responded to Ottumwa Regional Health Center for a report of a 2-month-old infant in the emergency room with serious injuries on December 7, 2012. Upon further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Michael G. Blair, 25, of Swisher. He is wanted on an arrest warrant for multiple acts of child endangerment, a felony charge.

Ottumwa Police Department Lt. Tom McAndrew said the infant suffered what they believe to be a skull fracture. She was transported from the Ottumwa Regional Health Center to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, but has since been released.

McAndrew said the infant was not related to Blair, but was his girlfriend’s child.

Blair is described as a white male, about six feet tall, weighs 150 pounds and has blue eyes.

Anyone with information concerning Blair is asked to call the Ottumwa Police Department Investigation Units at (641)-683-0661.
