Day-by-day, Grassley, Harkin seniority continues to grow

Smart Politics' fascination with Iowa's U.S. Senate delegation continues.

The University of Minnesota-based blog reports that Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley and Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin have served more days in the Senate than the entire delegations of 12 states combined.

Harkin and Grassley have logged 21,925 days as of Jan. 7, which is more than 37 U.S. senators, who have collectively served 21,895 days.
