Driver hurt when semi crashes along Hwy. 218

Cause of crash still under investigation

A Washington man suffered minor injuries after a semi-trailer truck overturned early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Officials responded around 4:10 a.m. to the accident along Highway 218, about a half-mile from the Henry County line. A caller stated to authorities the driver of the semi was out of the vehicle and conscious. Deputies found the semi on its side and in the ditch.

The operator of the Eichelberger Transportation semi, Craig J. Lucas, 38, was transported to the Washington County Hospital with minor injuries, officials said.

The cause of the wreck is not available at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
