NWCA NCAA Division III Wrestling Rankings

Coe and Cornell drop, Luther makes small jump and Wartburg remains No. 1

The NWCA NCAA Division III poll was released Wednesday. Wartburg remains atop the national rankings. Coe and Cornell dropped four and five spots, respectively, following a couple rough dual performances the last week or so.

Luther, Central and University of Dubuque made modest jumps in the latest rankings.

NWCA D3 RANKINGS

The Iowa Conference has 20 individuals ranked in the top 10 of their respective weights. Top-ranked Wartburg has 10 ranked wrestlers, all eighth or higher. Kenny Anderson (133) and 165-pounder Landon Williams are top-ranked for the Knights, while Wartburg heavyweight Ryan Fank, a former Independence state champion, is fifth.

Coe has four ranked wrestlers, led by third-ranked heavyweight Alex Burkle, a former North Linn prep. Ethan Ball (174) is ranked sixth, 197-pounder Donnie Horner jumped two spots to seventh and McThomas Sewara is 10th at 165.

Luther has two ranked wrestlers. Trent Flegel is second at 197 pounds. Current IIAC Male Athlete of the Week Evan Obert cracked the rankings at 133, sitting in 10th.
