Wind is howling, road conditions are deteriorating and so the city has extended its winter snow emergency until midnight.

"There are white-out conditions on many east-west roads near open areas," Craig Hanson, the cityís street maintenance manager, reports.

Wright Brothers Boulevard SW is a particular problem with many stalled vehicles, he said.

City plows are now in the cityís residential neighborhoods, but plows wonít clean streets that plows canít get down because of parked cars, he said.

Residents are asked to park off the street or on the even-side today, Dec. 20, if they have to park on the street.
