Wind is howling, road conditions are deteriorating and so the city has extended its winter snow emergency until midnight.

“There are white-out conditions on many east-west roads near open areas,” Craig Hanson, the city’s street maintenance manager, reports.

Wright Brothers Boulevard SW is a particular problem with many stalled vehicles, he said.

City plows are now in the city’s residential neighborhoods, but plows won’t clean streets that plows can’t get down because of parked cars, he said.

Residents are asked to park off the street or on the even-side today, Dec. 20, if they have to park on the street.
