For the second year, Theisen’s stores have shown their support for Horizons by granting funds to Horizons Family Support program through the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. This year’s award allocation of $2,500 will go toward assisting Linn County families during the upcoming holiday season and beyond. “The Community Foundation and Theisen’s family are impressed with the work Horizons does,” responds Community Foundation representatives.

“Horizons appreciate the Theisens’ family and the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque for the support they have provided over the years” states Lori Hagg, Horizons Family Support Supervisor. “This gift helps our family assistance funds as well as our Holiday of Hope program. What a spectacular way to ring in the New Year.”

Horizons Family Support program is part of the Family Outreach network at the agency. The program provides services to at-risk children and parents that help improve and stabilize housing, childcare and employment situations, as well as enhance parenting and primary life-skills. During December the program conducts Holiday of Hope, offering an opportunity for families involved in the support program to ensure all their children have a blessed season. More than 300 children benefit from Holiday of Hope each year.
