Closure of main artery was senseless

You are so right, Mr. Sondrol, in regard to your letter of Nov. 23 on the closure of a main east-west artery in Cedar Rapids of Second Avenue. It was truly senseless. The architecture of the Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa project indicates to me that Second Avenue could have continued through the building or under it. With all of the land available, why wasn’t it constructed on either side of the avenue?

Money certainly does talk.

It would have been nice if the mayor and council would have given Cedar Rapidians a chance to vote on this important issue. We certainly pay enough in taxes for the privilege.
