Authorities have identified a man whose body was found Saturday under a bridge near Cedar Rapids.

A hunter found the body of James W. Ralls, 47, around 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Squaw Creek, underneath a bridge on Mount Vernon Road, just west of Highway 13. His last known address was nearby in the Vernon Heights mobile home park at 7100 Mount Vernon Road SE, authorities said.

Authorities originally said the death was being considered as suspicious, but Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner said Monday there were no obvious signs of foul play in the case, and no suspects are being sought. He said an autopsy was scheduled for Monday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny.

“There is nothing apparent, in speaking with investigators that would throw up any red flags (about Ralls' cause of death)," Gardner said. "We just don’t know how and when he died right now.”

Gardner said Ralls had not been reported missing. Anyone with information about Ralls' whereabouts before Saturday morning is asked to call the Linn County Sheriff's Office at (319) 398-3511.
