MAP: Known fires in Cedar Rapids flood zone

There have been 40 reported fires at properties damaged in the 2008 flood, according to Cedar Rapids fire officials. One of the most recent fires destroyed the former Globe Grocery building in southeast Cedar Rapids Friday, Nov. 30.

Here’s a map, compiled by news research analyst John McGlothlen with assistance from multimedia reporter Max Freund, showing all known fires in the Cedar Rapids flood zone since June 2008.
